The Boyle as it was at the start of the twentieth century

The Boyle at the start of the twenty-first century

A post card taken some time before the First World War. At the time the village post office was in the first house on the left of the photograph. The Post Office has been long gone to Main Street and the house is once more a solely domestic property. The Boyle is probably the first street in the village cutting as it does through the Iron age earth works to provide an entrance to the village from the north.
