The Cross, Barwick-in-Elmet in the early 1900's

The Cross, Barwick-in-Elmet in the March 2002

The view shows the village centre looking west. In the view is the maypole and the Market Cross. The tower of the newly-built Methodist Church is in the distance by the entrance to Hall Tower field. In the foreground is a knife grinder pushing his barrow into Potterton lane. The view is hardly changed from 100 years earlier. The war memorial has replaced the Market Cross.
